Powerlifting Notebook is a training notebook app for powerlifters. This page explains what information the app collects, why, where it's kept, and how you can see or delete it.
Who we are
Powerlifting Notebook is an independent app based in the United Kingdom. We are responsible for your information under UK data protection law. You can reach us at hello@powerliftingnotebook.com.
What we collect
- Your account. Your email address and password. Your password is stored scrambled (hashed) by our sign-in provider, so we can never see it. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us.
- What you write in your notebook. Your warm-ups, technique cues, rehab exercises, bodyweight entries, daily calorie totals, next meet date, gym maxes and OpenPowerlifting username.
- Basic technical records. Our hosting provider keeps short-lived logs, such as sign-in times and IP addresses, to keep the service running and secure.
What we don't do
- We don't show ads.
- We don't sell your information or share it for marketing.
- We don't use third-party analytics or tracking.
How we use it
Only to run the app: to keep you signed in, to show you your notebook, to keep the service secure, and to send emails you need, such as confirming your email address or resetting your password. Under UK data protection law, we rely on providing the service you signed up for, and on our legitimate interest in keeping it secure.
Bodyweight and calorie entries are information you choose to record. We use them only to show them back to you.
Who handles it for us
- Supabase stores your account and notebook. Our database is hosted in London.
- Google, only if you choose Sign in with Google.
- Cloudflare hosts this website.
- OpenPowerlifting. If you add your OpenPowerlifting username, the app fetches your public competition record directly from openpowerlifting.org, which means sending them that username. Their own privacy policy applies.
On your phone
The app keeps a copy of your notebook on your phone so it still works in a gym with no signal. That copy stays on your phone until you uninstall the app.
How long we keep it, and deleting your account
We keep your information for as long as you have an account. To delete your account and everything in your notebook, email hello@powerliftingnotebook.com from the email address you signed up with. We'll delete it within 30 days and confirm when it's done.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Email us and we'll reply within a month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
The app isn't intended for children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If the change is significant, we'll also tell you in the app or by email.
